Black Women For Obama Adds New York To State Chapters
Published On: Tue, 11 Sep 2007   Print this  Email this

Http://www.blackwomenforobama.org) Today, Black Women For Obama announced the formation of a new chapter in the state of New York. That brings the total of official state chapters to seven, for the organization devoted to supporting the candidacy of Senator Barack Obama.

The group now has official chapters in Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.

"We are very excited to have New York on the Obama team", says Patricia Wilson-Smith, the organization's Executive Director. "The willingness of black women all over the country to join with us in helping to spread Senator Obama's message of hope has been nothing short of amazing!"

Though not affiliated with Senator Obama, the group volunteers to assist wherever needed, and believes it’s important that all Obama supporters help the campaign to achieve its strategic objectives, especially as it relates to the key first primary States. Black Women for Obama uses its collective resources to sponsor events, conduct voter registration drives, and maintains a website, (http://www.blackwomenforobama.org) that features news and opinion pieces related to the '08 campaign.
