Business Women Connect (BWC) will present a FREE sexual assault prevention training session on Wednesday, August 15 beginning at 5:00 pm. The event is open to all women in the Indianapolis area.

The free training is the first in BWC’s famous Escape Plan: Sexual Assault Prevention Training three-part series. The event, hosted by Pacers Sports and Entertainment, will be held at the Conseco Field House, giving each participant adequate room to get involved in the rigorous, hands-on program. Participants will be moving, twisting and kicking, so they are encouraged to dress comfortably.

Check-in for the event begins at 5:00 pm; training begins at 5:30. Following the training, program graduates will be recognized in a mid-court ceremony. As an added bonus, each participant will receive a complimentary ticket to that night’s Indiana Fever game, courtesy of the Community Health Network.

“While much has been done to ensure the safety of women in the Indy area, we realize that the police can not be everywhere at all times,” says Karen Kell, BWC managing partner and Escape Plan program coordinator. “Through the Escape Plan series, we are helping women take some responsibility for their own safety and security. The skills the women will learn through this program are life-saving.”

The Escape Plan: Sexual Assault Prevention Training series is designed to dispel the myths that most women have learned about keeping themselves safe. Through persistent hands-on training, the program will:
·reveal 3 secret weapons every woman can easily use to defend herself
